Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Iggesund Paperboard, manufacturer of virgin fibre paperboard for use in the packaging and graphics sectors, has announced that it is to reduce the workforce by 100 people, from the current 900 to 800 employees at its mill in Iggesund. The measure is aimed at making the operations more efficient and is undertaken due to hard competition in the market and high cost pressure.
The ambition is that the downsizing will be done through natural attritions (retirements) over a two-year period.
Iggesund Paperboard is a member of the Holmen Group.
