Engineering firm FG Wilson has announced that it is to cut 760 jobs in Northern Ireland. Parent company Caterpillar said the job losses would be across all four of the company's Northern Ireland sites. A combination of permanent and agency workers are expected to lose their jobs with a voluntary redundancy programme planned this year.
It is also reported that FG Wilson - Caterpillar is moving 70% of the production of small generator sets to China by 2014.
Trade Union Unite has criticized the way in which the company failed to enter negotiations with workers or their representatives.
