Description
German-owned Aurubis, copper-bearing and secondary raw materials recycling company, has announced that it is to close down its production site in Finspång and dismiss all of its 177 employees. The production will be transferred to the United States and the Netherlands.
The decision to transfer the production from the Finspång plant to other production sites is a response to the declining demand in certain market segments, such as engine cooling which are produced in Finspång.
Aurubis currently has 6,200 employees and has 16 factories in eleven European countries and in the United States.
The measure is expected to be implemented by the end of 2013.
