Description
Prysmian, a Berlin-based manufacturer of cables and cable systems for telecommunication systems, will close down one out of three German manufacturing plants. The product range of the Eschweiler plant, an acqusition from 2008, is said to be too narrow. The closure will result in 160 redundant positions.
Works council and trade unions have started protests; but the protest is not expected to change the restructuring plans.
