Description

Danish paper factory, Dalum Papir, will close down its sites in Denmark with the result of 223 jobs being lost.

As announced on 14 September 2012 by Arjowiggins, the owner of Dalum Papir, the whole production will be moved to a factory in France. There are no detailed information available on when the production will be moved.

The management is yet to meet with the employees representatives to discuss the situation of the dismissed employees. Out of 223 positions being cut, 175 employees will lose their job at the main factory in Odense while 48 will be dismissed at the factory at Næstved. 158 of the reduced employees belong to the union 3F.

The management claims the closure of production in Denmark is due to the negative effect of the crisis and subsequent fall in production levels.

The timeline for the closure is yet to be announced.
