Private sector home care provider Bluebird Care has announced an expansion of its care homes, which it expects will create 510 new jobs across Ireland.
Positions for care assistants and support workers will be available over the next six months, after the organization cited increased demand for its home care services.
The company currently employs 800 staff in Ireland. Bluebird commenced operations in Ireland five years ago and now has 18 bases nationwide with more franchises opening in Wexford, Westmeath, Longford and Roscommon in the coming months. In total, the expansion will create 75 jobs in Tipperary/East Cork, Kerry/West Cork and Wicklow; 30 in Carlow/Kilkenny Waterford - currently; 75 in Donegal and Leitrim and in Mayo and Sligo; 80 in the north east counties of Cavan, Monaghan and Louth; 55 in Dublin; 50 in Galway; 32 in Clare and Meath; 10 in Kildare/Laois/Offaly; 20 in Cork; and eight in Limerick.
