Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish railway operator Przewozy Regionalne announced plans to create a new unit in the Łódź Voivodeship, where 300 jobs are expected to be created. The workplaces at the unit will be reserved for workers from the Silesian unit of Przewozy Regionalne which will be closed by the end of 2012 (see the case on unit's closure).
It is also reported that another 200 redundant workers from the Silesian unit will be hired in other units in Poland, mainly in the Opole, Świętokrzyskie and Małopolska Voivodeships. The company will implement its restructuring programme in close cooperation with the Poviat Employment Agency. The programme called "Adaptation to change" will offer training and workshops for the redundant workers.
