Description
German daily FAZ reports that 500 managers will be made redundant at Opel, a German car manufacturer and part of General Motors. It is reported that the high-level managers are asked to leave the German car manufacturer voluntarily within the next week. They will receive a compensation offer.
The shedding of even more management positions is debated as General Motor intends to save costs and streamline bureaucracy by flattening Opel's internal hierarchies. Opel confirmed the restructuring plans but did not give precise figures.
