Description
MEKRA Lang, a German manufacturer of mirrors for trucks and cars, announced to close its production site in Fürth, Bavaria. At least 120 employees will be affected.
Talks with the works council for negotiating a social plan will start soon. The closure is planned to be realized by the end of March 2013.
The family-owned business has been operating in Fürth for 80 years and it was only in 2009 that the site was extended. MEKRA Lang stated that the decision was unavoidable due to strong competition by foreign competitors.
