Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans to create 1100 new jobs in the West Midlands following a 19% rise in sales during the first half of the year comparing with 2011.
The company will manufacture the new XF Sportbrake car and other models at its Castle Bromwich plant.
As of 30 July 2012, no timeline has been given for the creation of the new jobs. It is reported that Jaguar Land Rover has created 8,000 jobs in the last 2 years.
Update 14/8/12
Jaguar Land Rover has announced that it has created another 1,000 jobs to meet demand for its Evoque and Freelander models. The jobs are located at its site in Halewood bringing the total number on site to 4500 over three shifts.
