As announced on June 21, 2012, German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom will cut about 1,300 jobs. This is due to restructuring of its headquarters.
Currently, Deutsche Telekom employs 3,500 full-time workers in Bonn. The headquarters is to be restructured. Telekom aims to create a "new headquarter" employing 1,000 people and a service section (1,200 employees). Further remaining employees are part of personnel and finance resorts. 800 jobs will be cut until the end of the year, the remaining ones until 2015. Deutsche Telekom aims to avoid forced redundancies.
In total, Deutsche Telekom employs 120,000 people, 4,000 of them at the headquarters.
