Description

Mechel Campia Turzii, a Romanian manufacturer of basic iron, steel and of ferro-alloys, notified the county agency for employment of its intention to dismiss 308 people by the end of July 2012.

This is the first step of a restructuring programme that will involve a total of 800 collective dismissals. They will become effective by the end of 2012.

Currently the company employs over 1,800 people in Romania.

As reported, Romania has applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
