Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
A unit of Procter & Gamble, situated in Strombeek-Bever has announced plans to cut 150 jobs. Currently, there is no information available yet about which departements are to be affected by the cuts.
The management wants to encourage voluntary dismissals by proposing personalised early retirement packages or redundancy payments. This decision for reductions stems from the general plan of the company to cut 5,700 jobs worldwide.
The restructuring is to be completed by the end of 2012.
