The hardware and software provider Oracle has launched a voluntary redundancy plan that must come to an end by the end of September 2012. Oracle expects 144 voluntary departures. Employees have to declare their intention to leave the company between the 24 July and the 16 August. They will then have time to leave the company until the 30 September.
In 2009, the company had launched a voluntary departure plan for 250 employees out of a total workforce of 1,600 employees (but the company received 312 demands by employees to leave the company). In 2010, after the acquisition of Sun Microsystems, Oracle launched a new departure plan for 102 positions and received 210 demands of employees wanting to leave.
