Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
As reported on 31 May 2012 by Rheinische Post, ThyssenKrupp subsidiary ThyssenKrupp Presta, an automotive supplier, will close its site in Düsseldorf by the end of 2012 and 155 jobs will be cut.
In total, ThyssenKrupp Presta employs 340 people in Düsseldorf, 140 of them are employed on fixed-term contracts, which are to expire, and other employees who, ThyssenKrupp Presta hopes, may accept early retirement.
