On 23 May 2012, French retail chain Castorama specialized in building materials announced plans to create 100 jobs in the new unit in Oświęcim, which will be opened on 8 August 2012. The company has also announced the start of the recruitment process. Grzegorz Juszczyk, director of the store, said the company is looking for cashiers, sales advisers and logistics employees.
The company has been operating in Poland since 1994. Castorama has about 60 stores across Poland and employs in total 10,000 people.
