Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In May 2012, MKB Bank has announced the dismissal of 165 employees as a result of the closure of eight branches country-wide. Redundancies will affect 7.7 % of all MKB Bank employees. As of May 2012, there is no information on the timeline of the restructuring.
The measure is part of the bank's strategy to make its operations more efficient during the crises. As part of to this strategy MKB also sold its Rumanian subsidiary MKB Romexterra on 6 April 2012.
MKB's parent company, BayernLB is reported to support MKB's strategy to reduce costs.
