Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lithells, a Swedish producer of sausages, will reduce its workforce by 30 employees due to the reduced production volumes. In total 250 are employed at Lithells and as a result of the cutbacks every eighth employee will have to leave their job. Since summer is a high season for the business, the employees affected will not leave the company before autumn.
More detailed timeline for the restructuring is yet to be announced.
