Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 23 March 2012, the German chemical and pharmaceutical group Bayer announced its plans to hire 200 people at the Finance and Accounting Center in Gdańsk, which is expected to be operational in October 2012.Edgar Geyer, financial and accounting director, revealed that the Gdańsk investment is a part of global reorganization within the group.
The center will provide back office services to units located in Central and Eastern Europe (the second Bayer center, which operates in the West Europe area, is located in Spain).The company is looking for experienced accountants with foreign language skills.
Bayer is a global chemical and pharmaceutical company founded in 1863 in Germany. The company employs about 112,000 people around the world. In Poland Bayer has been operating since 1991.
