Description
German supermarket chain Edeka has announced that it will streamline its logistics operations in northern Germany to respond to growing competititon. The logistics staff was informed that the restructuring plan will envisage 200 job cuts at the Eedeka's central warehouse in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The restructuring will start this year and last until mid 2015. The Schwerin establishment currently employs a total of 750 persons. 200 out of these hold temporary contracts. Edeka North employs a total staff of 5,800.
