Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Jeyes, a UK-based company focused on the production of household detergents, has announced 427 job losses with the closure of its plant located in Kadaň by the end of October 2012.
Jeyes came to the Czech Republic in 2006 and launched the production at the Kadaň site a year later. The region has had the highest unemployment rate since 1990; there are currently 60,000 people unemployed in the region.
