Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Aerospace and defense group EADS is to create 9,000 jobs in 2012 due to strong growth and increase in orders in the previous year. Some 4,000 will be temporary positions. Roughly 5,500 jobs will be long-term contracts with half of them in France. The remaining jobs will be short-term contracts and internships. To date, there is no information on where the new jobs will be created.
The group intends to hire young graduates, especially female graduates, for filling 30 to 35% of the positions. The long-term objective is to increase the share of women in its workforce to 20% by 2020.
The group includes aircraft manufacturer Airbus, helicopter supplier Eurocopter, space programmes producer Astrium, and systems solutions provider Cassidian.
