IhrPlatz, a German drugstore chain, is to cut 908 positions. The insolvency of drug store chain Schlecker affects Schlecker's subsidiary IhrPlatz, which, according to Schlecker's insolvency manager is far better off than the mother company and shall be restructured to finding a new owner.
IhrPlatz' insolvency restructuring plan will come into effect after Easter. Restructuring plans by Schlecker's insolvency manager comprise the closure of 142 out of 612 IhrPlatz chain stores, which will involve the cut of 908 out of 5,350 jobs. As of yet, there is no indication of when all cuts will be implemented by.
In October 2012, trading cooperative Für Sie announced to acquire 44 branches of IhrPlatz, which means that 200 jobs are backed (see Factsheet 22537).
UPDATE 18.10.2012: Drugstore chain Rossmann reported that it has taken on 2,000 former Schlecker and IhrPlatz employees.
