French building materials group Lafarge plans to cut 460 jobs worldwide as part of the reorganization of its corporate functions announced on 2 February 2012. Some 90 jobs will be lost in France. The company intends to set up a voluntary redundancy scheme and avoid compulsory redundancy. The new organization will allow the company to meet markets' demands. As of February 2012, there is no information on the timeline of the job cuts.
With 76,000 employees, Lafarge operates in 78 countries.
