Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French joinery manufacturer Atrya is to create 100 new jobs as a result of increased turnover. Atrya has 19 production sites across France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. It is based in Gundershoffen (Alsace) and currently employs 1,800 staff, of whom 1,200 in France. To date, there is no information on where and when the jobs will be created.
In 2011 Atrya delivered turnover up 17% at EUR 410mn and expects to do even better in 2012. In late 2011 the company announced a EUR 60mn investment programme for the period up until 2014.
