Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 15 February 2012, newspaper publisher Wegener announced it will cut 300 to 350 jobs until the end of 2012.
The aim is to reduce costs by 20 to 25 million Euros and pave the way for a new focus on digital media, which at present accounts for only 6% of the firm's earnings. Wegener has faced a substantial drop in the number of advertisements.
Wegener has granted the union for journalists' insight into its books.
