Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Unilever, a multinational consumer goods company, announced plans to hire 100 people in the factory in Bydgoszcz, which is currently being expanded. The new departments are expected to be operational in the beginning of 2013, but the company has already started to recruit employees.
The president of the company, Marek GÅ‚owski, explained the employment strategy and stated that hiring started now in order to have qualified staff available as soon as the plant is operational.
Unilever plans to invest 20 mln EURO (approx. 84 mln PLN). The unit in Bydgoszcz, which produces cosmetics and household chemicals, employs 590 people.
