Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will reduce the number of full-time positions by 300 people. The cuts will affect administrative staff in Sweden. This is part of a planned cost reduction programme in order to maintain SAS's competitiveness. A timeline for the workplace reductions has yet to be announced.
According to SAS almost all trade unions are accepting the planned changes and cost reductions. The objective is to make SAS more competitive with the low-cost carriers.
SAS have no plans to reduce the production staff and there are no further layoffs planned in administration.
