Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Italian manufacturer of home electric appliances De'Longhi announced the intention to create between 600 and 1,000 new jobs at Jucu, near Cluj.
This is a result of an investment of 30 million euros in a new factory located on the former Nokia site.
Nokia Romania had announced its withdrawal from its factory in Jucu in September 2011 leaving 2,200 people jobless (see here). Now, a number of companies have announced job creation on Nokia's former premises including De'Longhi, Transcarpatica (see here) and Bosch (see here). In total 2,750 job creations have been announced by these three companies.
