Description
US-owned restaurant franchise Subway plans to open 600 new branches in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, creating 6,000 jobs over the next three years.
The chain has already expanded rapidly, increasing the number of its UK outlets by 500% in the seven years to date. Subway currently has 1,423 outlets in the UK and 99 in Ireland, so the planned expansion will increase its presence by over one-third.
