Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The group Fermoba, a window manufacturer, will cut 390 jobs after having been put into liquidation last December.
The Commercial Court of Troyes announced a partial take-over of the activities, which will save 80 of the original 470 jobs. Three former associates will partially take over the production site of Annezin (Pas-de-Calais) and 16 agencies of its commercial network. The production plant of Petit-Réderching (Moselle), that employed 61 people, will be liquidated. Additionally, the new management has revised the operational planning: on average, 50 windows will be produced per day while the group was originally set to produce 500.
