Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 16 November 2011, Dutch wholesale chain Makro Cash&Carry opened its second outlet in Kraków and created work for 200 people.
The company is reported to develop its activities in Kraków (and generally in the Małopolska Voivodeship) due to dynamic trade expansion in the region. The company authorities announced that already before the official opening of the about 12,000 enterprises had decided to cooperate with Makro Cash&Carry. The company plans to cooperate with 14,000 of enterprises, which is about 35% of all trade companies in Kraków.
The company has 30 wholesale outlets around Poland, employing over 7,500 people. It has been operating in Poland since 1994.
