Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Biotechnology concern Qiagen plans to cut 150 of 1300 jobs in Germany, most of them in Hilden, as announced on November 28, 2011.
Qiagen is confronted with declining markups due to economic situation in the United States and Europe and falling demand. In total, Qiagen plans job reductions affecting 8-10% of 3800 worldwide employees.
