British communications services company BT will open a new call center in West Bromwich which will create more than 300 new jobs. Recruitment for the positions has already begun.
It is reported that this job creation is the result of discussions between BT and the Communications Workers Union (CWU). It was emphasized by a spokesman for the Labour-led council that the communication between BT and the Union ensured the newly created jobs will be permanent BT roles in the UK and not outsourced.
In December 2010, BT had announced to create 450 jobs in West Bromwich.
