Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 15 November 2011, German-owned sensor manufacturer Pepperl+Fuchs stated that it will hire 200 employees for a new production hall in Veszprém, Hungary. The site is expected to be operational by the end of June 2012.
Pepperl+Fuchs produces electronic sensors, plastics and metal parts. The annual revenue of the company has risen by HUF 1 billion (EUR 3,2 million) in 2011 compared to 2010. The investment into this Hungarian base is a part of the rationalization efforts of the company's activity.
