Background is the excess capacity in the production of solar cells worldwide, resulting in a price drop of 50% over the past year.
It is reported that a foreign take-over of Solland Solar is expected in the near future.
UPDATE, 17 January 2012: A further 100 job losses were announced at Solland Solar's Heerlen plant in January 2012.
