Pininfarina, a car designer and manufacturer, is to close its production activities, with the loss of 127 jobs. Pininfarina will focus on its core business, i.e. design activities. The reorganisation plan provides for the closure of the production plants located at San Giorgio Canavese and Cambiano, near to Turin.
The trade unions have severely criticized the company's decision. In their opinion, Pininfarina, with its decision, will undermine relevant expertise and know-how on cars' production developed over many years.
