Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
As announced on May 24, 2012, German multinational Bosch will create 2,000 jobs in Germany by the end of 2012.
This is due to record level in 2011 and increasing sales in 2012. In total, employment will sum up to 121,000 in Germany. Worldwide, Bosch will employ 315,000 people by the end of 2012, 12,500 more than by the end of 2011.
On 22 July 2011, Bosch already announced to create some 1,000 new jobs in Arnstadt (Thuringia) during 2011 and 2012.
The company has opened a new research and production facility for solar cells and modules. Part of this new facility is also a training centre. The company has invested 530 million euros into the new facility. The Bosch group currently employs a total of 285,000 employees.
