Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Due to a voluntary departure plan open to older workers, Robert Bosch Electronique is to reduce its workforce by 150. The plant in Mondeville (Calvados) is set to see its staff levels reduced from 800 to 650 by the start of 2012. The site, which specializes in electrical components and equipment, is planning to launch a new production line to make fuel injection engine control units for French clients in the second half of 2012.
These new activities are expected to stabilize staff levels. The ambition of the plant is to become a pilot factory whose innovative insights can be used by other plants within the group.
