Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
McBride, a manufacturer of household cleaning and personal care products, announced plans to close its factory in Burnley cutting 350 jobs. The cuts are part of company efforts to reduce costs and improve its operational efficiency. The production work will now move to other company facilities. McBride has entered formal negotiations with the company's works council.
