Description

The Czech government intends to cut 8,000 jobs in 2012 across all ministries, departments, government organizations and state institutions in order to save public spending. Currently, the state employs overall 433,000 civil servants. Ministry of Justice is the only department where no jobs cut will occur, on the contrary about 545 new jobs are to be created (Prison Service needs 345 officers and 200 civil workers). The purpose of the restructuring is to bring more effective public service delivery and performance. Average monthly wage of civil servant is to be CZK 23 833 (EUR 973).
