Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 23 September 2011, a Danish manufacturer of combustion plants for biofuels Weiss started to build a new factory in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, where 200 people are expected to be hired. The company plans to invest about 40 million PLN (over 9 million EUR) by the end of June 2012 and start a production in July 2012. Weiss has already hired 40 of 200 employees. The company has applied for the financial public support worth 13,5 million PLN (about 3 million EUR), but Andrzej Ligenza, president of Weiss, declared that the investment will be realized even without public support.
