Valmet Automotive, a Finnish car manufacturer, is seeking to expand the workforce of its Uusikaupunki factory by about 200 persons.
The Uusikaupunki factory was originally founded in 1968 to build Saab automobiles. It has since produced various brand of cars for a period of time, most recently Porsches, and is now building Fisker Karma hybrid cars for Fisker Automotive. The production numbers of Fisker Karma are increasing. The Uusikaupunki plant is the only factory in Finland producing passenger cars.
