Description
Stockport council has announced plans to cut 471 jobs due to government spending cuts. 311 of the jobs were lost by the start of the 2011/12 financial year and the additional 160 will have to go by the start of 2012/13.The Council said 50 of the 160 posts were already vacant and that volunteers would be sought for redundancy and early retirement for the remaining positions.
