Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 29th August 2011, the Commercial court in Bayonne agreed on the liquidation of the household and furniture network Bois et Chiffons, which was placed into receivership in March 2011.
The court turned down a fifth take-over proposal of the company, which employed 150 workers in its 12 shops and headquarters in France. More than 100 employees will be dismissed and all but three of the company's sites are subject to the liquidation order as they have been already sold to independent retailers.
