Description
On 19 August 2011, the German railway operator Deutsche Bahn announced to cut around 350 jobs at its service centres within the next four years. The job cuts are to be implemented through natural wastage.
Another 350 employees will be offered different positions within the company. The job cuts are attributed to the declining number of tickets sold in the company's service centres. The share of online sales has however increased. Deutsche Bahn currently employs around 2,350 staff in its service centres in Germany.
