Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Javor IPP has declared bankruptcy and all 120 employees will lose their jobs. The company's activities are fully integrated with those of Javor Pohištvo, which recently has declared bankruptcy (see related factsheet no. 18287). Although the two companies are separate legal entities, Javor IPP is very much dependent on Javor Pohištvo's activities.
Javor IPP is a company from Ilirska Bistrica employing 120 employees, 40% of whom are disabled.
UPDATE:
The latest information from 17 September 2011 says that the final number of laid off employees has been 97. The remaining 23 eployees has been transferred to the parent company Javor.
