Description
Gym chain Fitness First is to close 18 out of 103 fitness studios and gyms by the end of August 2011. As a result of the closure some 150 employees and 170 temporary staff will lose their job. Enforced dismissals are not ruled out.
The company has taken up talks with the works council and more information on the location of the affected sites will be released soon. Fitness First currently employs some 4,500 staff in Germany (including self-employed trainers).
