Description

OEZ Letohrad, a subsidiary of Siemens, is to end production of fuses at the Výprachtice factory and relocate activities to Greece. The closure is expected to affect about 110 employees, mainly women. It has not yet been decided whether they will be laid off or relocated to other OEZ units.

Siemens has declined to comment on its plan but it has been reported that the production will stop in March 2012. The restructuring is attributed to Siemens' decision to shift less skilled manufacturing jobs from the Czech Republic and move more demanding production to the country.
