Description
Ford, American car manufacturer with many sites in Germany, announced to create 700 new jobs (including 500 engineer posts) in Germany within the upcoming 12 months. Additionally, the management communicated that the factory in Cologne will be the only production plant building the Ford Fiesta model from September 2012 onwards. This model had previously been built both in Cologne and in Valencia/Spain. Furthermore, Ford's management and its Works Council have contractually agreed on not enforcing direct dismissals in Germany until 2017.
